2016年12月11日，湖北省宜昌市秭归县水田坝乡青蒿峪村，当地电力公司工人帮助村民将脐橙放到索道车上。曾经，一道峡谷将该地与外界隔绝，8户人家的300亩900吨脐橙只能依靠肩挑背扛往外运。2014年12月6日，第一批脐橙通过索道运出大山。与人工搬运相比，索道的运送速度快了3倍，运输成本则是原来的十分之一。
